Grew up in Bonbeach, Victoria before moving to a little country town called Walkerville, Victoria. Once High School was finished, she moved back to the City and studied Hospitality. I loved it and moved to Queensland due to the better hospitality industry and jobs, but I soon got bored. So, off to Uni I went and chose a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting at Griffith Uni Gold Coast. After working for a few accounting firms in Melbourne and Brisbane, she decided to set up her own accounting business which has been going for about 10 years now. I have lived in Victoria and Queensland Australia. And has called Queensland home for the since 2008, and now Australia is her new home.
As I work from home with the business, I decided that some company was needed during the day, so it was time to get a dog. Bear was found in the trading post (yes, the trading post as Gumtree and Facebook marketplace weren’t around then).
Bear is a black staffie and was born in January 2010. He is a very needy staffie and loves to sit on you. He is about 25kg of muscle and doesn’t know his own weight.
In 2014, Bear got really sick and the Vet thought he had cancer on his bladder wall. Luckily it was just a very severe infection of his bladder wall although he did lose his manhood as a result.
In 2016, Bear was diagnosed with 3 small cancers (the size of peas). He was very lucky, the Vet managed to cut out all the nasties with good margins. After discussion with the Vet, we thought it would be a good idea to get Bear some company and this is where Bahloo came along.
(named after the bear in jungle book)
Born in November 2016. After much discussion with the Vet, I decided to get another dog to keep Bear company and for Bear to train him in case Bear’s illness was severe. If I was to get another dog (they aren’t cheap anymore) that it would be a Blue Staffie as you have to pay lots of $$ to get dogs these days.
Bahloo was picked from a litter of 4 and he was different from his 3 brothers.
Bahloo is a smaller staffie compared to Bear, weighing in at 15-17kg and not a typical staffie. He doesn’t usually jump and is more afraid of people (especially men). Although he loves to antagonise Bear and will bite Bear’s back legs if Bear is getting too much attention even though Bahloo doesn’t want it. He loves to play with Bear and looks like a boxing kangaroo while doing so.
Bahloo is also known for destroying an extra strong extra-large Kong toy.
